Antique Chinese figure of Guandi c1800 to 1850 Item # 4822 Antique Chinese figure of Guandi c1800 to 1850. This wood sculpture measures 45 and one half inches high overall. The figure measures 43 inches high and 24 inches wide by 14 inches deep. The base measures 2 and one half inches high by 20 and one quarters wide by 14 and one half inches deep. Excellent carving detail and wonderful old gilt patina. Guandi, or Guan Yu, was an intrepid military general and hero during China's Three Kingdoms period, about 1,700 years ago. He is remembered for his kind heart, loyalty and patriotism. He is shown wearing armour with celestial scarves framing his head. Antique Chinese Porcelain Ginger storage Jar Item # 2720 Chinese export,Chinese storage jar,Antique Chinese Ginger Jar, Antique Chinese export Porcelain. This Antique" Chinese export Porcelain" Ginger jar measures 8 and three quarter inches high by 8 inches widest and the lid is 4 and one half inches across. This "Chinese storage container" dates from the early 19th century. The condition is quite good with just a few chips along the covers edge. The blue and white decoration is quite good. (vi) + illustrations on 18 lvs. Includes 101 different shop signs beautifully hand colored with captions in English and Chinese.This book is in very good condition and quite rare. The images are all hand painted. Publisher's binding with silk covered upper board and matching paper covered board at back. "The shop signs of different parts of China vary according to the customs of the people. This book measures 13 and one quarters inches by 10 and one quarters inches.
